Covington, Ind. - Floyd Marion Cordrey, 72, of Perrysville Route 1, died at 8:35 a.m. yesterday (Nov. 5, 1968) in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville where he had been a patient since Oct. 20. Born July 30, 1896, in Eugene, Ind., he was a son of Thomas Edward and Malinda Ellen Beck Cordrey. He was married Jan. 21, 1920, to Tessie Sadler who survives. Also surviving are six brothers, Felix A. of Los Gatos, Calif., Frank B. of Soquel, Calif., Fred R. of Downers Grove, Ill., Edward F. of Covington, Milford N. of Minneapolis, Minn., and Andrew A. of Westville, Ill. He was preceded in death by a sister. Mr. Cordrey was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Gessie, the Modern Woodmen, the Unity Masonic Lodge 344 of Perrysville, the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 302 of Perrysville and the Royal Neighbors of Gessie. He lived in South Dakota from 1920 until 1932. He retired in 1963 as an employe of the C&EI Railroad. Services will be at 2 p.m.Thursday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. Dale Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home this afternoon and night Masonic services will be at the funeral home at 8:30 tonight.
